Winterball

WINTER BALL DIVISION 7 PREMIERS

Our brother side Woodland Wolves trained as a squad with our men’s team at
Birralee Thursday nights.
Training always finished with stoking up the barbie and a few bevvies
The sides always played to win against each other game day, their inaugural
season saw the Woodies take out the flag, congratulations Woodland Wolves.

Some of the Woodlands players are teaming up with our men’s team in our
Veterans summer side Tuesday night at Mirrabooka, they are looking forward
to a great season.

We would certainly love to expand our winter ball teams, we have had an
amazing relationship with the Japanese School fielding a team under our
banner in the Under 15 mixed sides for two seasons, unfortunately they
played off in the finals but were not successful.

It has been an absolute pleasure having Mr Ito and team plus the amazing
parents that assisted with the line marking and canteen help, you will all
be sadly missed as you head home to Japan.

Our own U15 mixed side battled slightly, but not for the want of trying,
they were always out to win, the team led by Russell Berriman who it would
be remiss of the committee not to sincerely thank Russell for the role of
line marking, diamond set up and the list goes on, Russ is our equipment
manager too, thanks Russ to you and your extended group of helpers.

We will be chasing winter ball teams, noted on the PSL site is the intention
to include a home and away ladies sides next season, the format will be
exactly the same as the men’s and junior sides, season runs from April until
September, hopefully we can field a ladies and a U13 mixed side as well

Summer season out of Mirrabooka commences October 17 2015 we are fielding 17
sides, still looking for a scorer and a coach for a couple if teams, if you
can help we would love to hear from you

Local Matters @ Grill’d

We’ve been selected to participate in Local Matters at Grill’d Scarborough this June!

Local Matters is the Grill’d community donation program that sees each Grill’d restaurant donate $500 back into the community every month. The donation is split between 3 local community groups $300 / $100 / $100.

HOW YOU CAN HELP?

We’d love your support in receiving the highest $300 donation! Simply head to Grill’d Scarborough during June, for a burger and pop your Local Matters token in our jar. The group with the most tokens at the end of the month receives the largest donation.

It’s a simple (and delicious) way to show your support!

You’ll find us on a jar at Grill’d Scarborough, 188 The Esplanade
Scarborough.

Little League Black, back to back champions

Hey there CATS fans, it was the Little League night of nights with the Black Cats taking on the Jags Grey at the BOOKA, it was looking like the rain was going to interrupt, but it held off, the Cats started well with Ash bash on the mound, pitching a good first innings keeping the Jags to no runs, with some great batting the Cats managed 6 runs.
The second innings was started with Amber and she held her nerve, allowing a couple of runs, pitched well in the third leaving the score 6 – 3.
The fourth innings had the Cats adding another 5 runs, they were never headed for defeat, they took out their second little league title… ( insert Queen, we are the champions).
The black Cats finished the season undefeated..
A marvellous effort..
Big thanks to Donna Titheradge, who has once again shown her experience and expertise over the other clubs….
Well done kids..

CHAMPIONS 2014/15..followed closely on the heels of the Little League All Stars win.

Carine Cats – 2014-15 All Star League champions

LITTLE LEAGUE ALL STARS TAKE THE FLAG

Massive day down at the BOOKA today with the culmination of the 2015 ALLSTARS little league championship.

The cats started really well with a mercy win over the Fremantle rebels, which put us straight into the gold medal playoff…

The CATS took on the Cougars, a south of the river team from Cockburn, and our little Aussie grinder lead us off pitching a blinder, and along with Ashlee, held the Cougars to 2 runs for the game.
Some nice hits from Amber, Sienna, and Izzy, helped the girls to another Mercy win, and the gold medal…

The girls were just miles ahead of the other clubs due mostly to our Super coach Donna Titheradge, whose knowledge of the game is a step above the rest..

So congratulations to our CATS…

Inaugural little league CHAMPIONS 2015…
